MONTGOMERY, AL—The Alabama Hospital Association recognized a local hospital volunteer as a 2024 Outstanding Youth Volunteer at the state conference of the Alabama Council of Hospital Auxiliaries in Eufaula last week. Taylor Cole with Prattville Baptist Hospital was recognized for her professionalism, willingness to step in, and ability to identify and meet needs without being asked.

Cole has volunteered in various departments at the hospital, including the Emergency Room, PACU-Surgical Recovery, Physical Therapy, Radiology, and the Medical-Surgical Unit. While balancing a full academic course load at Huntingdon College, she has consistently dedicated her Fridays to serving wherever needed. Whether assisting Patient Care Technicians on the Medical-Surgical floor, supporting Physical Therapists during rounds, or preparing rooms in the PACU for incoming patients, she approaches every task with a positive attitude and a compassionate heart.

Cole’s commitment to service extends beyond the hospital. She is actively involved in her church’s youth, music, and children’s programs and is always willing to help her family and community. She has been an invaluable asset to Prattville Baptist Hospital, and the staff often say, ‘We need more like her!’

In presenting the award, Dr. Don Williamson, President and CEO of the Alabama Hospital Association, praised Miss Cole for her service and thanked all volunteers attending the conference for their dedication to hospitals and the patients they serve.
