Ideas for Hospital Week Stickers
AlaHA is printing stickers for all hospital staff and will ship them to hospitals in late April. They will be small, 4” x 4” stickers to go on the back windows of cars, and we’re hoping all employees will use them and that there will be hundreds of cars with stickers on the local roadways.
** It’s important to let your employees know that the use of these stickers is purely voluntary. And, if your hospital has a policy that would preclude a distribution like this to employees, feel free to focus on other types of celebrations.
Some suggestions for distributions (preferably the first part of Hospital Week or right before:
- Take photos of license plates and stickers and post them on your intranet. Get employees to search for and claim their license plate and then have a drawing once a week with a prize.
- Or, have employees take selfies of themselves alongside their sticker and then have the drawing.
- Give out cookies one day with the sticker attached. Or, better yet, give out with sticky buns!
- Work with a local radio station to have a sticker spotting to get the community involved. The radio host could announce that the first caller to call in with a sticker spotting wins. Would have to send a photo later to claim prize. All callers should be asked if they have a relative who works at a hospital. If they do, they get bonus points. If they are a healthcare worker, they get triple points and should tell what they do.
- Could have department contests. Once employees put stickers on their cars, they complete online form, noting their department. Maybe once a week or at the end of the month, you have a pizza party (or some similar event) for the department that sticks the most stickers.
- Think about prizes that relate to the word “heartbeat.” Maybe give out blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeters, maybe go big with an Apple watch or FitBit.
