Federal Workforce Training Programs
On the Job Training (OTJ)
- A partnership between the Alabama Department of Labor and the Alabama Department of Commerce to help employers create a plan to train new hire employees to learn new job skills while covering a portion of the training costs of the employer. Hospitals could receive up to 75% reimbursement of the trainees’ hourly wages. An employee with ADOL Career Center System will work one on one with each prospective employer to create a program where employees can learn new skills and reach career goals.
- Hospitals can establish training programs for current employees to “earn and learn” to obtain new skills or obtain candidates sponsored by the Career Center system for jobs that may not currently be approved for apprenticeship spots.
