Premiums for HealthCare.gov Plans Expected to Drop

Average premiums for a benchmark plan on HealthCare.gov are expected to drop two percent in 2021 to $379, according to a recent statement from CMS. The 2021 decline will total an 8 percent decrease in premium costs since 2018. Issuer participation will increase in 2021, decreasing the number of enrollees with access to only one issuer to four percent.

The 2021 Open Enrollment Period is from Nov. 1, 2020, to Dec. 15, 2020, with a coverage period beginning Jan. 1, 2021.
