UAB Doctoral Student Conducts Supply and Demand Survey for Registered Nurses

 Friday, March 13, 2020

Recently, a survey was sent to hospital nurse leaders as part of a doctoral dissertation research study entitled, “Alabama’s Acute Care Registered Nurse Workforce: A Study in Supply and Demand”. The UAB doctoral student and principal investigator is Tracey Dick, working under the guidance of Dr. Patricia Patrician, UAB Dissertation Chair. Although AlaHA’s annual vacancy survey provides us with current needs data, we encourage all of our hospitals to participate in this survey for workforce planning to help assess future demand for nurses.

Each hospital was assigned a unique identifier for confidentiality and reporting will only be provided in aggregate form. The survey may be completed  online, using the identifier or you may contact Ms. Dick at (205) 567-2725 to obtain an additional copy of the survey or your hospital’s identifier.
